Let Us Come To You

Great news! We travel, and will gladly hop on the road to speak to your school, work, or church.

Public Speaking?! Relax! Not you– we'll do the talking. 3rdchair goes on the road for your family, your friends, your club, your high school, your youth group, your fraternity or sorority. Whatever your group is about,  we’ll talk about what we do, why we do it and who can benefit from our services.  All you have to do is ask.  Email us at info@thethirdchair.com. Each presentation is about 30 to 45 minutes in length, and just let us know if you need us to present to multiple groups or do something special.

Here's some of the things we usually talk about:

Transitioning Into Adulthood

"Why isn’t college as much fun as I thought? Will I always be broke?" College life is difficult: the homework load is demanding, the potential social outlets can be overwhelming, roommates can be objectionable. Learning to budget can be daunting: minimum wage isn’t cutting it, and the food is, well, whatever you can afford.  How can you endure this for four years? We'll help you figure out ways to survive it all.

Community & Personal Growth

"There are almost 7 billion people in the world… and 98% of my thoughts are about me." So true. But how does this impact us and the world in which we live?  We’ll take a look at how reaching out to others makes a difference in our own lives, our communities and the world.

Learning To Love Yourself

In today's world, where we are constantly told by the internet and the media who we should be and what we should look like, it can be hard to not let those messages go straight to your head. For example: being sexy is so much more than how society defines it; wouldn’t you rather be thought of as beautiful? What sexy looks like may be, what successful looks like, what healthy looks might be different from than you think. Being comfortable in your own skin is the first step to loving yourself, and it’s an amazing feeling.  We’ll share some simple things to make you feel okay with who you are, as well as talk about why people harm themselves with cutting, drugs or even food.

Christianity & Counseling

What exactly is Christian counseling and what does “Christian” look like in terms of counseling?  We’ll look at Ephesians 4 22:24 and what Paul meant.

Baggage

What's in your backpack? Everybody carries around stuff.  We carry our experiences, our fears, our friends, our family and our responsibilities.  Dang, that gets heavy, doesn’t it?  We’ll talk about some ways to relax and set boundaries, so that you don’t feel spent and empty.  The world needs you to be your best self!  We’re not sure if you knew this or not, but all of you reading this are going to be our future leaders, workers, parents and presidents.  Thus, we need the next generation of adults (that’s you!) to be the best you can be.  Not only are you MORE FUN to be around (than adults… *ahem*), but we also care about you and want to see you happy and healthy.  We used to be kids too (no really, we did) and we know it’s not easy.  Being a young person shouldn’t be this hard, y’know?  Don’t worry, we won’t judge you and everything we talk about is confidential.  So get in touch with us!  You’ll be glad you did it.

Do your thing and don’t care if they like it.
